The EDGE Center Community Engagement Core works closely with educators to co-develop curriculum for high school students aimed at increasing environmental health literacy. ATHENA workshops (the Academy for Teaching about Health and Environmental Associations), sponsored by EDGE, bring high school teachers together with UW investigators to explore topics in environmental health and develop classroom activities in alignment with Washington state teaching standards. 

Fast Facts About the Duwamish River

This double-sided fact sheet was created in collaboration with Bellevue high school health teachers who planned to introduce a unit on the Duwamish River focusing on issues related to environmental health and justice. It provides a basic overview of the river's history, including its listing as a Superfund Site and ongoing cleanup.

Model Community Partnership Agreement

This Model Community Partnership Agreement provides a template for academic researchers to use with community partners for Community Engaged Research projects. This model agreement is pre-approved for use by researchers within the UW School of Public Health and can be modified to fit the needs of academic-community partnership teams within other schools and universities.
