EDGE is launching five new Collaborative Translational Research Teams (CTRTs). These replace a set of groups previously organized to provide interactions around environmental health effects by organ system. Each new CTRT will be led by an established investigator paired with an earlier career faculty member.
The five CTRTs are:
Microbiome and chronic diseases
Lead: Karen Levy, Co-lead: Erica Fuhrmeister
This team will combine expertise in mechanistic toxicology, microbiology, metabolomics, biochemistry, data science, and chronic disease epidemiology.
Exposomics and precision environmental health
Lead: Ashleigh Theberge, Co-lead: Alison Paquette
This team will combine expertise in exposure sciences, biochemistry, metabolomics, toxicology, data science, and clinical medicine.
Toxico-epigenetics and developmental origins of health and disease (DOHaD)
Lead: Elaine Faustman, Co-lead: Yijie Geng
This team will combine expertise in reproductive toxicology, mechanistic research in zebrafish models, epigenetics, data science, pediatrics, and the epidemiology of prenatal and early life exposure associations with chronic diseases.
Air pollution and environmental epidemiology
Lead: Joel Kaufman, Co-lead: Joan Casey
This team will combine expertise in exposure sciences, environmental epidemiology, Data Sciences, human controlled exposure studies, and policy evaluation.
Building resilient communities
Lead: Jeremy Hess, Co-lead: Rachel Sklar
This team will combine expertise in emergency medicine, exposure sciences, community engagement, disaster research and response, adaptation to environmental change, and epidemiology.
