This fact sheet summarizes lessons learned from the establishment of the Imperial County Community Air Monitoring Network. Community-engaged research can be complicated because it must meet the scientists' standards rigor while having meaning for the community and support to ensure longevity and lasting change. The Imperial County project serves as a success story with important lessons for other projects. This sheet also briefly describes the work of the Seto lab. It was produced to distribute at a Public Health Cafe event held in South Park, Seattle in the fall of 2019.

These inquiry-based materials provide the scaffolding necessary for students to successfully identify and investigate how things in their environment impact their health. Portions of the curriculum are also available in Spanish, 40 pages

Environmental Health Fact File: DIABETES

A collection of integrated lesson plans designed to introduce middle school students to the topics of diabetes and environmental health. This curriculum follows the same format as the Fact File on Asthma, although the content is tailored to New Mexico, as it was developed by our grant partners at the University of New Mexico.
